Lightroom 6.2 Import Issues
Lightroom supremo Tom Hogarty has updated users on the continuing saga of the Lightroom 6.2 update and the revised Import feature.
“I’d like to thank our customers for their patience while the team reviewed several options for restoring import workflows and addressing quality in Lightroom. We can now confirm that, in our next dot release, we will restore the previous import experience. We are still working on details and timing. In the meantime, if you need to restore previous import functionality prior to the next update, please refer to this document on how to roll back to Lightroom 6.1.1 (https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/roll-back-to-prior-update.html).”
The released seemed a bit rushed – maybe to fit with the Adobe Max schedule? In principle it was good idea to update the import process because it has been a bit of a mess for a while. But change is always controversial, and this dropped some important features such as ‘eject card on import’ which seemed like a no brainer to make the default.
Because of Adobe Max there was no beta release of 6.2 (as there often is with Adobe updates) and that meant no testing with users.
Ah well, lessons learned!
